Building Houses from Scraps pattern from Jeanneke at http://buildinghousesfromscraps.blogspot.com
I ran across this pattern in 2011 when it was a free pattern and used templates that you needed to make from a paper pattern. Last year, some friends from quilt club were making these houses for a raffle quilt for a local community damaged by a tornado. The pattern had been revamped to include foundation paper patterns. There is also a rubber stamp that you can purchase thru her etsy shop.
My basket for small scraps was getting pretty full and this is a great project for the bits that either get tossed in there or in the garbage. I used a mini charm pack (2.5″ x 2.5″ squares) to make the ZEN CHIC houses.
The houses are 75 mm finished which is very close to 2 15/16. After foundation paper piecing the houses and removing the paper, each house was trimmed to 3 3/8.”
Corner squares are 1/2″ finished. Finished size of each house is 2 7/8″
